HUTCHINSON, Kan. (September 17, 2018) – Hutchinson’s Superior Boiler, manufacturer of Scotch Marine and vertical firetube boilers for more than 60 years, recently raised $10,000 for two student scholarships. The sixth annual “Superior Boiler Shootout” golf tournament, held August 30, benefited the Hutchinson Community College Presidential Leadership Scholarship Program and the American Boiler Manufacturers Association Randy Rawson Scholarship Program. Superior provided $5,000 to each scholarship program.
“This year, we decided to use our golf tournament to help deserving students with their education,” said Doug Wright, CEO of Superior Boiler. “We wanted some of the money to stay in Hutchinson and some of it to bolster our industry association’s Randy Rawson Scholarship. It gave the tournament greater meaning, and we are grateful to every company that participated and contributed.”
The 2018 Shootout at Prairie Dunes was Superior’s largest golf tournament to date, with more than 30 golfers participating, including customers, sales representatives and key suppliers.
