Superior Boiler Launches the Saponi Large-Capacity Watertube Condensing Hot Water Boiler with Unmatched Flexibility

HUTCHINSON, Kan. (Sept. 19, 2025) – Superior Boiler has expanded its condensing product line with the launch of the Saponi, a large-capacity watertube condensing hot water boiler available in 20, 25 and 30 MMBtu/hr sizes. Engineered with Superior’s patented DFW technology, the Saponi delivers exceptional efficiency, durability and installation flexibility for large-scale heating applications.

The Saponi was designed to fulfill customer demand for higher capacity within a singular unit and limited footprint. This demand became clear from the success of Superior’s Cheyenne condensing boilers, which have been specified for large-scale projects such as a recent airport installation that included 15 units at 10 MMBtu/hr each. Many other projects require at least 50 MMBtu/hr, requiring multiple Superior Cheyenne condensing units.

“The Saponi is the direct result of customer feedback and our team’s commitment to innovative, high-performance solutions,” said Doug Wright, president & CEO of Superior Holding. “It offers unmatched capacity in a single condensing unit without compromising efficiency or reliability.”

In line with the Cheyenne’s most sought-after features, the Saponi features dual-fuel capabilities, operating on natural gas, #2 fuel oil, digester gas, hydrogen or various other gaseous fuels. The unit is designed to help facilities reduce footprint, simplify maintenance and operate more efficiently with one burner instead of two or three.

“We designed the Saponi to help customers achieve more with less — less space, less complexity and less downtime,” said Don Whitman, president & CEO of Superior Boiler, LLC.

The Saponi’s integrated, water-cooled membrane wall furnace increases heat transfer and absorption while reducing heat flux and lowering waterside pressure drop. The primary heat exchanger includes stainless steel fins integral to the furnace module, and the full stainless steel secondary heat exchanger module can be located either at the rear or side to optimize plant layout. For additional flexibility, the gas outlet can be configured at the rear or side as well.

“This product fills a critical gap in the marketplace,” said Matt Steele, vice president of sales & marketing at Superior Boiler. “It brings the proven performance of our Cheyenne line to an even larger capacity, while maintaining the flexibility and efficiency customers expect.”

The Saponi is now available for quoting and ordering. For more information, visit http://www.superiorboiler.com or contact your local Superior Boiler representative.
